NOTICE: Popeye has recently been made aware that Groton residents have filed the following complaints against the Popeye commuters:
- Excessive speed along Groton Long Point Road,
- Trespassing on private property and
- Leaving alcohol bottles along the roadsides.
PLEASE be mindful of your speed and always follow the speed limit. Respect private property and do not wander onto people's yards. DO NOT drink and drive. There are plenty of trash receptacles in the marina, PLEASE do not liter.
The Police have been made aware of the complaints. There has been a request that the parking lot across from Esker Point Beach be closed for commercial uses. At this time, the town intends to keep the parking lot available to those using our charter service. HOWEVER, if the problem worsens or continues they will re-examine that decision.
Please note that a new parking policy is in effect at Spicer's Marina:
Spicer's Marina yard crew will be closing off the new parking lot for boat storage as of Sunday night. All commuters should park on 2nd tier parking (area to the left of the Seahorse Restaurant). Please contact office staff at the Spicer's Marina Store for a parking pass, if you do not already have one. For questions regarding parking and prices, contact John Gardner at (860) 536-4978 ext. 3
Any cars that park on premises without permission are subject to be towed at owner's expense
As always, please carpool whenever possible!
